Wow when I went to the hall I was amazed at the wall we were going to play on, it wasn’t the school wall it was a big blue wall.
When we went to the hall after morning tea we were so excited to see our coaches that were going to teach us for our new kiwi sport. I was so excited to meet them and when we went to the hall they looked very cool and we were all very exciting to play with them. The coaches name’s were Michael and Phil, but Phil did the most talking more than Michael. Both of them showed us a demonstration of how to play Squash. They told us if anyone wanted to have a go and Ma’ata put up her hand and said she wanted to have a go at playing squash.
After that we went and got split into groups and went to different stations and had a go at it. After all that talking we had a turn in the big blue wall first. We kept on losing to each other and it was fun but when Michael said “stop and swap”. Our group had to go to the skills groups with Phil and when we started it was easy but when it went on it keeps on getting harder and harder until when we had a challenge I wasn’t excited because everything was hard but only the first one was easy not the others.
When we finished I was very sad but when they said that they will be seeing us tomorrow I was excited to see them again. I couldn’t wait for tomorrow’s squash practise and I was so overwhelmed when we finished.
Also what they wear for squash is a squash t-shirts and squash pants and shorts and also they were squash jackets and sport shoes.
Also did you know that the people that are the squash champion’s are Ramy Ashour and also Nicol David. The person who created squash was a school called Harrow school in about 1830’s.
